5/14/2012 UPDATE:
WE (A VARIETY OF PEOPLE) WERE ABLE TO RAISE ALL THE FUNDS WE NEEDED TO BURY AMY. THANK YOU SO MUCH! JOEY AND THE KIDS ARE DOING THE BEST THAT THEY CAN IN THIS SITUATION. JOEY’S HEALTH HAS BEEN HOLDING UP AND HE’S DOING WELL. THE GIRLS HAVE HAD THEIR CHALLENGES AND FALL DOWNS, BUT WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT CHILDREN IS SO TRUE – THEY ARE VERY RESILIENT!
THEY EXPERIENCED EASTER AND GILLIAN HAD CELEBRATED HER 10th BIRTHDAY – WITHOUT THEIR MOM.
JOEY IS WORKING TO GET ALL THE PIECES TOGETHER FOR HIM TO GO TO SCHOOL FOR NURSING. AND THE LITTLE ONE (ELISE) IS GOING TO BE GOING INTO KINDERGARDEN IN THE FALL, SO THAT WILL BE EASIER ON JOEY FOR A SCHOOL/JOB.
PLEASE KEEP JOEY AND THE GIRLS IN YOUR PRAYERS.
Request for Help:
A few weeks ago, my cousin, Joey Mahoney (37) was again in the hospital. He had been battling a rare disease where it would eat away at his muscle. He has been on his death bed 2x’s over the last 6 years. The disease is not known to have many survivors from one bout, and yet Joey had fought back through 2 bouts. He is 37 yrs old and has a young wife, Amy and 2 little girls, Gillian 9 and Elise 5.
Well, a few weeks ago, he had another attack from this disease- his third. The doctors would only give him a 10% chance of recovery (if that). Joey and Amy called me on the way to the hospital. They knew the work I did, and wanted me to call in all my Peeps to do more healing on Joey. Joey wasn’t ready to die.
I made the calls and lots of healing and prayers when their way.
By a miracle of God, Joey pulled through. The doctors are amazed and one is even writing a Medical paper on “this man of miracles.”
But 2 weeks later, Joey’s wife of 13 years died in her sleep. No understanding as to why.
Amy Mahoney was the most loving and supportive wife and mother I had ever had the honor of knowing. She was also the sole support of her family, since Joey’s illness left him unable to hold down a full time job. Joey took to being the “house Dad”. With the mounting medical bills for Joey and only the single wage from Amy’s job at Aldi’s, it left nothing for savings.
They need help to bury this young woman. And I am reaching out to my friends/clients for any help you can offer. The MINIMUM need is to get her cremated, viewing, mass and burial and that costs just over 7,200.00 None of which they have.
Can you help? There are 2 ways to do this. One you can make a donation to an account set up for Amy – “Amy D. Mahoney, Memorial Fund” through First Merit Bank. (OHIO) OR you can make a PAY PAL donation through my site. (look for the page labeled: Amy Mahoney)
ANYTHING you could spare, would be of help.
You can check out her on-line obit at: www.davidbognerfamilyfuneralhome.com
And please, keep Amy, Joey, Gillian & Elise, Mahoney in your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kym McBride
