We went to check out the Moon River Brewing Company where we had a psychic program scheduled for the following day. We wanted to meet the owner and see the location. While we were waiting for our lunch meal, Carol went to use the loo. A few minutes later while the owner was at our table, Carol said, that she had just seen a young “flapper” girl sitting in the ladies room, and she was just hanging out watching all that entered the room. The owner, kind of snickered at the information, it seems that he doesn’t believe in ghosts or anything in the paranormal side of things. Which is funny seeing he owns the most haunted bar in all of Savannah! Anna from Savannah was going to take us down to the rooms were we would be doing the program, but before we went, she informed us of its “activity”. The rumor is that there was a terrible black mist that terrifies the staff at this bar/restaurant. And to punctuate that point, Anna from Savannah brought over one of the waiting staff to regale us with her personal experience. She told of the refusal on many staff members to even go into that area of the basement. And no one was willing to go in those rooms alone, even if just to get some quick supplies. Well, this story tempted us to see what was happening…..before going down to see the space, we decided to do a psychic “check in” to see what we “got” on this terrifying black mist. We chose to do it individually and then compare the results as a group. Carol received the words “Black Beard”, and a man in chains, rats, dark and dank and water. I got that the “mist” was really just a very upset pirate. Apparently he somehow found himself drugged and in a row boat. There was a tunnel under the restaurant/bar and they (I guess the “bad pirates) took this guy to the basement. I saw them pull him from the boat and drag him through a brick arched doorway with a heavy wood door. There were a bunch of wood barrels stacked around, it looked like a storage unit. They proceeded to beat him, I don’t know what they were beating him for….but in the end they beat him a bit too much and it killed him. I asked him if he knew he was dead, and he said “Of course! So I asked why he was sticking around? And why was he terrorizing the people who are currently working here? We went down stairs to see the basement area. When Mary entered, she heard a child say Mommy. I found the doorway that I saw in the vision of him being dragged in, and it was still exactly like it was then, but had been bricked up in the center. Then we looked for the area that led to the water ways under the restaurant. (which we found out later, this whole area is known for the waterways that run under the city.) We found the entrance to the water area was also cinder blocked up. We could feel the anger of the murdered pirate in this area. He seemed to follow us through the rooms . It was as if we were drawn to different place in this large basement that validated our visions…. The thing is, he was just so mad that they did this to him (beat and killed him)..it was like he just got stuck on rage and it didn’t dissipate over the many years he was dead….it wasn’t that he had unfinished business to deal with, it was he was just so dam mad, and for all the years that he stayed in this basement, he took that rage out on whomever crossed his path. What we did for this enraged man was to listen to him. We allowed him to vent that rage in words that were then able to dissipate that rage. Really, this was one of the easier crossings that we did….at least to this point on this trip. Once he told us his feeling on his death, he was able to leave this self imposed imprisonment and cross over. (update:The next day we had our “psychic event” and we had no more interactions with him, he did go for good). After we talked and released the pirate in the basement, Anna from Savannah took us up to the old hotel that was above this bar/restaurant. Apparently that was what this building was prior. (First City Hotel) We walked up the new set of stairs that were in the middle of the bar/restaurant and at the top of the stairs there was a door. It did not give any indication of the treasure inside. What it did show us is that air conditioning does not rise! As we walked up each step, the heat was rising and by the time we opened the door we were hit with a wave of hot, sticky heat that was trapped in these upper floors. But quickly my attention went from the blast of uncomfortable heat to awe! We had just walked back in time! A huge main lobby with 20ft ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and enormous pocket doors that had me swooning! Everything was covered in dirt and dust that was many years in the making. It also was painted a unique green paint that covered all the woodwork – but I was in love! But I was pulled from my love bubble by the awareness that I had people standing right up against me! This place was loaded with dead people! I was a bit annoyed, not only by the oppressive heat, but I was being distracted by all these dead people touching me! They were walking with me and they all seemed to have a hand on me. Now, I didn’t see them, I felt them. And it was like walking in a three legged race, just plain awkward! I wanted to see everything, but Anna from Savannah said we needed to be quick, seeing that people are not allowed up here. I walked through the main lobby area to a very long and WIDE hall. We (me and my hand posse) walked past two staircases that where on opposite sides of the hall that led to the second floor private rooms of this hotel. But the steps were not in safe shape and were blocked off with plywood (Oh, I wanted to explore up there!) To the left was another large room that was littered with equipment and pallets of bags of materials. I wanted to know so much about this place that so many dead people have chosen to stay even after they died…..oh, the stories they must hold! But I was not hearing anything from the touchy feelily companions, because I was in sensory overload! I had thousands of questions whirling in my inquisitive mind, and I trying to listen to the stories that Anna was answering from the other girls, yet being distracted by the sweat pouring down my back, stepping over pallets, and walking around equipment that looked like workmen had just left for a break…and feeling weird with all these hands on me! I did hear one of the girls ask Anna why this floor had not been updated and used by the bar? She said that the old hotel was owned by an investment group, and there was a few stories that had been on the rumor mill. One being, that they ran out of money to make the needed repairs…..and the other was more in line as far as I felt….that the ghosts in this establishment have done their best to scare the hell out of the workmen. The workmen have been pushed off ladders, equipment is moved, or missing and the noises have been so loud and scary that grown men refused to work there! So because they can’t get workers to stay, they stopped work on it all together. Which explains the ladders that are set up with supplies on them…and they are just sitting there abandoned. I can’t say that the dead people that were touching me were angry, for that’s not what I felt, but then again, I’m not trying to work on the joint….I felt they were happy for the visit we were giving them. But I was the only one feeling ” the love”‘. Carol had on entering felt a heavy pressure on her chest and Mary were getting vibes that were “nervous, and needy” and they were looking to leave soon after arriving. I can’t say the oppressive heat wasn’t a deciding force also, so I agreed with them to leave, and we headed back down stairs….but I had every intention of coming back some day…..but next time…in the WINTER! We went back down to the fresh cool air conditioning of the bar/restaurant….and spent a few minutes rehydrating ourselves. But I felt leaving was a bit bittersweet….leaving my posse, without getting some of their “stories” was not how I rolled! I LOVED their stories and I also wanted to cross over the ones that were ready to leave…..and I did nothing on this visit, so I felt bad. But the thing I hated the most was that I was INJURED! In all the walking, I had gotten a blister on my foot, and Anna from Savannah had a full day of walking on the agenda…..and me being overheated and hurt is not a pretty thing! As we were leaving the Moon…., Anna saw that I was struggling with my one foot and she offered to trade shoes with me, which was brilliant! Her straps hit my foot at a different place and allowed my boo boo much needed relief! Anna had a place that she wanted to take us. She didn’t tell us where or what it was, she just said ” follow me”. And begrudging I hobbled across the street with the others. When we got to the other side of the street, Anna and Sara were out the gate like they were in racing mode! Mary and Carol were behind them and I was bring up the rear. We didn’t get but a short way down the street when saw Carol stopped and grab her chest……
